Nine Inch Nails, T. Rex, Depeche Mode To Be Inducted Into Rock Hall

May 2, 2020 8PM

Broadcast live on HBO for the first time ever, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame will host their 2020 Induction Ceremony at Cleveland’s Public Auditorium and welcome Nine Inch Nails (pictured above at Woodstock 1994), whose only permanent member, Trent Reznor, spent his formative years in Cleveland developing the intense industrial sound that would soon define a generation.

Reznor will be joined by T. Rex (pictured above) and Depeche Mode (below) as 2020 Inductees, forming a continuum from David Bowie-influenced folk/glam to electronic synth/pop to dark industrial intensity. Reznor shares writing credit on the biggest hit of 2019, the Lil Nas X smash Old Town Road, due to the sampling of the 2008 Nine Inch Nails track 34 Ghost IV, connecting the dots from transgressive ferocity to becoming the basis for Billboard’s longest-running #1 hit.

Also honored will be inductees The Notorious B.I.G., The Doobie Brothers, Whitney Houston and Ahmet Ertegun award-winners Jon Landau, Bruce Springsteen’s producer/manager and Irving Azoff, manager of the Eagles and an executive with Ticketmaster and Live Nation.

Tickets go on sale to Rock Hall members on February 25th and to the public on February 27th at 10 a.m. ET at Ticketmaster.com or by calling 800-745-3000.
