The crops are starting to pour into the farmers markets now as July starts to ripen a full range of produce. The Coit Road Farmers Market, which includes a full kitchen, celebrates with its Growing Season Opening BBQ.
Stop in from 11am-1pm (Or do your shopping first — the market opens at 8am) and get a plate brimming with smoked pulled pork, BBQ chicken or smoked catfish, along with a bunch of sides (including some for vegetarians/vegans) and a beverage for $10. Money raised benefits the nonprofit market.
And if you realize at the last minute that you need something for your July 4 cookout, you’re in luck. The Coit Market will be open its regular hours — 10am-1pm — on the holiday so you won’t have to show up empty-handed.
