With predictions that Cleveland’s large Puerto Rican community could grow with people displaced from the ravaged and disgracefully neglected island, it’s time to get to know these wonderful neighbors who, by the way, are fellow American citizens.
You can do so at the annual Latin American Festival at La Sagrada Familia Church in the Detroit-Shoreway neighborhood. As with all church festivals, there will be plenty of traditional ethnic food and drinks to wash it down along with live salsa music, Puerto Rican dance performances, a fashion show, and a raffle.
“We would like to reach out to other to share our rich traditional Latin American culture through food, music and dance,” they invite us.
