Cleveland Burlesque, founded by performer/producer/burlesque historian Bella Sin in 2004, kicked off its 20th season with the Sweetheart Showcase at the Beachland Ballroom, featuring a stellar cast of local and visiting burlesque and drag performers. The polished acts, the sensational costuming and creativity showed how far the local burlesque scene has come in that time. An enthusiastic sold-out audience packed the Beachland, and egged on the performers with their over-the-top enthusiasm.
Hosted as usual by comedian/writer/Baldwin Wallace professor Ken Schneck, the show featured performances by Sin herself (including a stunning tribute to her late mother), Twirlisha Devine, Dolly Dagga, A Girl Named Jack, Samantha Echo, Lady Slay, Rose Faluda, Ruby Rabbit, Heather & Lace, Midnight Lily, Monica Mod and Nyx La Vix.
