An Evening With Matthew Desmond at Playhouse Square’s State Theatre features a talk by the Pulitizer prize-winning author of the buzz book of the moment, Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City. Published in 2016, the best-selling book describes how precarious life becomes when you don’t have stable place to live and how that instability prevents people from being able to get back on their feet. It’s captured people’s imaginations and spawned numerous community and book club discussions.
The program is free but you must have a ticket. Desmond will sign books after the program.
