The latest in a series of concert tributes to Cleveland musical icons, organized by local music icon Charlie Wiener, honored pop/rock/new wave quintet the Generators who had a brief but impactful run from 1979-1982 that ended, sadly, without the national fame so many people expected for them.
The lineup of fellow musicians performing their songs included Alex Bevan, Dave Smeltz of I-Ital, Carlos Jones, Cary Matthews, David Loy, Michael Stacey and Melanie “Miss Melvis” Fioritto. finally, the Generators themselves — Mark Addison on keyboard and vocals, Kathy “Eva Dilcue” Dottore on vocals, Glenn “Stutz Bearcat” Tozser on bass, Don Buchanan on guitar and Jim Fotheringham on drums hit the stage to perform such much-beloved songs as “T.V. Set” and “Temporarily Out of Control” and drive the audience into a frenzy of nostalgic excitement.
