The Cleveland Orchestra Brings the Early 20th Century & a Cello Concerto to Blossom

Sat 8/12 @ 8PM

The Cleveland Orchestra travels back in time to the dawning years of the 20th century for most of its program tonight at Blossom Music Center. Maurice Ravel wrote his “Alborada del gracioso [Morning Song of the Jester]” in 1904-1905, Manuel de Falla composed the Suite from El amor bruho [Love, the Magician] in 1914-15, and Igor Stravinsky debuted his Suite from The Firebird in 1910.

One piece on the program goes back to the previous century: Edouard Lalo’s Cello Concerto in D minor was composed in 1876. German-Canadian cellist Johannes Moser will do the solo honors. Gustavo Gimeno conducts the orchestra.

Tickets are $24-$89.
