Most people know Garry Tallent best as the bass player for Bruce Springsteen’s E-Street from the release of Springsteen’s first album, Greetings from Asbury Park, in 1972. He remained with the band until Springsteen dissolved it in 1989 and took his place again when it reconvened 10 years later.
But he’s also produced many other artists such as Jim Lauderdale, Gary U.S. Bonds and Marshall Crenshaw, and played on albums as a sideman. He’s headed out on the road now with an album of his own called Break Time. It hits the Kent Stage this week. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door.
