Georgia folk rockers the Indigo Girls have built an incredibly dedicated following since they released their first album nearly 30 years ago. Vocalists/songwriters/guitarists Amy Ray and Emily Saliers, who form the band’s core, have offered fans their contrasting yet complementary styles over the course of 14 studio albums, including last year’s One Lost Day. What’s interesting about them is that they don’t work as a Lennon-McCartney type songwriting team, but rather each pens her own distinctive songs. Yet the come together as performers with an equally distinctive style.
The duo is currently out on a summer tour that brings them to the Kent Stage. Singer-songwriter Lucy Wainwright Roche, the daughter of Suzzy Roche and Loudon Wainwright III, opens. Tickets are $45-$65.
