The BOP STOP and Cleveland’s New Ghosts promotions have again gotten together to present a jazz act that local fans probably otherwise wouldn’t have had a chance to hear. Described by All Thar Jazz as “one of the greatest bands currently working in Norway, that may sound like faint praise. But Norway, like much of Europe, is fertile territory for jazz musicians. The quartet of young players — trumpeter Thomas Johansson, sax player Kristoffer Berre Alberts, bassist Ola Høyer and drummer Gard Nilssen have released three albums, started to tour extensively internationally, seeking out audiences for their breed of sharp, exploratory music. Tickets are $10.
