BAYarts opens two new shows with receptions tonight. Six years ago Bill Forester had a stroke that left him unable to speak; he found his voice through painting and self-portraiture. His show, Facing Forward, in the Dianne Boldman Education Gallery, demonstrates how painting helped him move past his challenges.
In the Sullivan Family Gallery, Suzan Kraus’ show Perspection will go on display. In it, she ferrets out the stories inherent in paper, using handmade papers and paint colors together. “The visual abstract narratives are reflections of personal thoughts and feelings looking inward and outward,” says her artist’s statement.
Both shows are on view through Sat 7/2.
