David Mayfield, along with his sister Jessica Lea, grew up playing in his family’s bluegrass band. Both of them have moved on to critically acclaimed solo careers of distinctive indie Americana/rock, with David playing with his David Mayfield Parade. (Parents Valerie & David meanwhile are dealing with empty nest syndrome by ramping up their tours as a bluegrass duo).
Every once in a while, Mayfield likes to return to his roots, which is what he’ll be doing when he gathers some musician friends and performs as the David Mayfield Bluegrass Parade at Peninsula’s G.A.R. Hall as part of its Voices in the Valley series. It’s general admission; doors open at 7:30pm. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door.
