One of the things the Beachland Tavern does so well is set up informal, low-cost evenings with some of the area’s most talented singer-songwriters, giving them a chance to play their material in an intimate setting and interact with their audience. This triple bill of area performers showcases some of the best.

Akron’s Ryan Humbert (pictured) is known as a rocker and a catalyst, but he’s a versatile performer who’s done jazz, country, classic pop, folk and good old rock & roll in addition to his heartfelt singer-songwriter stuff. He’s done shows paying tribute to Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison and Hank Williams and a bit of them all seeps into his sound. And he doesn’t play “up north” enough so this is a great chance to hear him.

Nate Jones is a young man with an older soul, infusing his soulful, blues-influenced style with nods to the best acoustic performers from the ’70s (James Taylor, Paul Simon) through today. Taylor Lamborn is another artist who seems older than she is, putting muscle and toughness behind aching songs that graceful arcs that verge on pop but never slip over the line into insubstantiality.
