Reggae quartet Rebelution has built up quite a following in its decade together, following the jam-band DIY model of heavy touring, lots of festivals, indie releases, and developing a close relationship with their fan base. It probably doesn’t hurt that they’re a group of fresh-faced white boys, which gives them appeal to the college and post-college crowd.
The members met in college in California (on the beach in Santa Barbara, no less), and that vibe informs their sunny, languid music. They recently released their fourth CD, Count Me In, with guest slots by roots-reggae vocalist Don Carlos and dancehall reggae singer Collie Buddz — playing both sides of the reggae coin.
But it’s their feel-good live show the fans eagerly await. And they’ll be playing at the House of Blues with Common Kings opening.
Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door.
