Local songwriter Brent Kirby is experiencing a creative rebirth on his new CD Coming Back to Life. Hear his new stuff at the Coming Back to Life CD Release show @ Happy Dog on Sat 5/14. He’ll be backed by his band The Lost Fortunes.
Brent says that Coming Back To Life was partly inspired by his rejection of the 9 to 5 grind. “After years of working a corporate job, and having my creative energy snuffed out, I finally found the time and energy to go through the hundreds of songs and ideas I’ve gathered over the years. But I wasn’t just compiling stuff; I also got more comfortable with writing new tunes specifically for this band.”
“I also think it might also be about Cleveland, in a way,” says Brent. “This town’s seems like it’s been rediscovering itself for the last couple of years now. We’ve all read things and hear about how lousy it is to live here. But those of us who live and work and play music in Cleveland — we know it’s a really great place to be.”
