Local Jazz Musicians Moises Borges and Ava Preston Share the Stage at Riverdog Barn

Fri 6/6 @ 7:30PM

Two of Cleveland’s gifted jazz musicians, both of whom have performed extensively in this area, will again be joining forces for a show at Riverdog Barn in Lorain County.

Singer/songwriter/guitarist Moises Borges was born in Bahai, Brazil, but has lived in Cleveland for decades. In that time, he’s has been lighting up area stages with his infectious music informed by the rhythms of his native country, such as bossa nova and samba. He performs a wide repertoire of pieces by noted Brazilian composers as well as his original music.

Jazz vocalist/composer Ava Preston is a generation (or two?) younger than Borges. Freshly out of Tri-C’s jazz program, she’s now in school at Juilliard in New York, pursuing a degree in jazz voice. She was performing in area clubs such as the BOP STOP and Nighttown before she was in her teens and has electrified audiences with her numerous performances at Tri-C JazzFest. She’s collaborated with many top jazz musicians and performed at significant nation venues such as New York City’s Birdland jazz Club and Nashville’s Bluebird Cafe.

Go here for tickets to what’s sure to be an evening of sinuous melodies and intricate rhythms from two of the area’s most interesting and accomplished musicians.
