There’s no better indicator of what a great food scene has developed in northeast Ohio than the proliferation of “restaurant weeks.” Cleveland’s got a flock of them, and now even Kent has its own, sponsored by local business group Main Street Kent and Great Lakes Brewing Company.
Just a few years ago, the idea of downtown Kent supporting such an event was laughable, since most of the college town’s offerings were bar food and pizza. But times have changed. The 13 participating restaurants offer Italian, Mexican, pan-Mediterranean, sushi and more.
As is typical with such events, each will offer a fixed-price menu featuring a combination of some of its best offerings at less than the usual price, with prices varying by restaurant. In addition, throughout the week, winners will be selected from diners to win gift cards to come back and taste still more food
Participating restaurants include Barrio Tacos, Belleria Italian Restaurant, Bricco, Erie Street Kitchen, Franklin Hotel Bar, GRAZERS, Laziza Mediterranean, Over Easy Morning Cafe, Tree City Coffee & Pastry, Treno Ristorante, Water Street Tavern, Wild Goats Café and 157 Lounge.
