Low income housing has always been a sore subject in Cleveland, but The Neighborhood Housing Services of Greater Cleveland are working to make a difference in our community. NHS is taking part in a community wide Land Trust Program that will provide more opportunities to those who are in need of a decent place to live. The organization purchases homes, rehabilitates them, and transforms them into durable energy efficient living spaces in desirable/accessible neighborhoods. This week, NHS of Greater Cleveland is playing host to the National Community Land Trust Network’s annual conference, with over 300 practitioners from across the country, in attendance.
CoolCleveland Correspondent Marty Bielat met up with NCLTN sister organization, Opportunity Finance Network’s President and CEO Mark Pinsky, and asked him a couple questions on the Land Trust Program itself. You could tell right off the bat that Pinsky was driven to make a difference, and he even gave us a taste of his Keynote for NCLTN’s conference that day.
Thank you Mark Pinsky and the rest of the team at NHS for not only hosting an excellent conference, but for also supporting the community, and helping us find quality sustainable homes to live in. It was truly an honor to hear about your work, and to get to know the faces that are working to make an impact. We’re looking forward to hearing more stories, and will look for more ways to get your message across. Good Luck!
