What a show! CoolCleveland correspondent Marty Bielat went behind the curtain and got a sneak peak of Baldwin Wallace’s Theatre Program’s newest performance: The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie. Bielat interviewed Jack Winget, the Director of the show, and got the inside scoop on what to expect on opening night. As an extra treat, the main cast members, Katie Butcher, Maggie Williams and Kate Willard, gave CoolCleveland a little taste of what’s to come for audience members.
“I couldn’t get enough,” said Bielat after witnessing their performances. As Winget says in the video, the complete transformation of the mid-west actresses into Scottish born women is not an easy feat, and just adds to the many fantastic pieces that make this show worth seeing. The play will be shown at The Baldwin Wallace William Allman Theater Wed 4/9 – Sun 4/13.
Jean Brodie is the story of a liberated young schoolteacher who teaches at an Edinburgh girls’ school about love, politics and art. Skipping through the more boring topics, Brodie believes she can rely on her won-over pupils when her private affairs turn public. Unfortunately when the affairs are made public, a student begins to wonder if miss Jean Brodie is past her prime.
See the famed story live and on-stage at Baldwin Wallace’s theatre, and make sure you stay tuned to CoolCleveland for more information on up-coming Cleveland performances, Baldwin Wallace news, fun events, neighborhoods and people. Thank you again Jack Winget for your time, and thank you girls for your amazing performances. Break a leg!
