It’s wine tasting with a twist! If you’re looking for a fun spin on a typical wine tasting benefit, then Cornucopia Uncorked, being held at smARTspace at 78th st., is the event for you. A benefit for Cornucopia, a grocery company that helps people with disabilities work and train for future careers, Cornucopia Uncorked requires each attendee to bring two bottles of wine with them, in addition to the regular ticket price.
Upon entry one of the two bottles is set aside, and the other is covered and the attendee is given a number that corresponds with the bottle. As the night goes on participants taste the masked wines and vote on which is their favorite. The top five wines are selected at the end of the night, and each participant with a corresponding number is given the remaining bottles as prizes. The person with the top pick could walk away with anywhere close to 30 bottles.
Michael Crowdes, Event Sponsor and Attendee, was excited to give CoolCleveland a couple insiders on the event.”It combines supporting a great cause with having a great time,”said Crowdes, along with, “We’re thinking that there is going to be 100, close to 150, people at the event, and hopefully if it all goes well, the benefit can turn into something annual.”
In addition to the wine, there will also be live music, and food catered by Cornucopia inc.’s company: Nature’s Bin. Specializing in vegan and vegetarian food, Nature’s Bin’s food has something for everyone and is to die for. With great wine, food, company and an excellent cause, Crowdes pitches in, “What’s better to do on a Thursday night?”
Thanks again Michael Crowdes for your time, and thank you Cornucopia for setting up an awesome event that we are sure will benefit our community. Make sure you stay tuned to CoolCleveland for more updates on Cornucopia Uncorked, as well as other fun events happening in the 216. Thanks and see you there!
