Cleveland might not turn out to be the GOP’s smartest choice of a location for this year’s Republican National Convention — and not because of protests or potential violence. With the vast majority of northeast Ohioans in opposition to Republicans policies, the arrival of this political circus has evoked an outpouring of events, ranging from panels to films to conferences to art installations and concerts, expressing a divergent point of view. If anything, the RNC has brought Clevelanders together in opposing any agenda based on hate, fear, bigotry and injustice.
If protesting in the streets isn’t your thing — and for most of us it isn’t — there is a plethora of things to attend in the next week where you can join with others in events aimed at promoting peace, justice, love and understanding. Here’s a guide.
