The musical The Wild Party, with book, lyrics and music by Andrew Lippa, made its stage debut in 1997. Based on a classic 1928 poem of the same name by Joseph Moncure March, it depicts a cast of uninhibited Roaring 20s characters coming together at the titular bash for a night of dancing, sex, drinking, jealousy and violence, with a bad ending. It’s packed with fun and meaty roles for actors.
Local actors will be sinking their teeth into those parts when Blank Canvas Theater presents its version of The Wild Party, directed by Blank Canvas founder Patrick Ciamacco with choreography by Katie Zarecki.
It runs Thursdays through Saturdays @ 8pm and Sundays @ 7pm, though Sat 6/4. Tickets are $18.
