Big-voiced blues singer Becky Boyd has been working the Cleveland club circuit for more than 30 years, impressing audiences with her powerful performances. Late last year, she decided it was time to freshen things up. She disbanded her long time band Real Life and formed a new one which made its debut in January. That band, Groove Train, features some veterans of the area blues scene as experienced as she is: guitarist Michael Bay, bassist Alfredo Guerrieri and drummer Jim Wall.
Check them out at the Music Box Supper Club where the bill will also feature gifted singer-songwriter Claudia Schieve, who happens to be her daughter. The two frequently perform together at local clubs, giving audience a chance to see two generations of talent.
Admission is only $7, which also includes the specialty cocktail of the day.
