Local Food Mondays Are Back @GLBC_Cleveland Tasting Room

Mon 4/6 @ 5:30PM

A few years ago, a series of monthly Local Food Mndays at the Great Lakes Brewing tasting room brought together a packed room full of people active in the area’s food scene, interested in being part of it, or just hearing what others were doing. Each event including a program on some aspect of that scene, preceded and followed by a networking period.

Many new friends were made and relationships were built, as people learned about ideas and projects in the pipeline. The events, which began as local food production was shifting into a higher gear, certainly had an impact on its growth.

After a couple of years, those events came to the end of the line, seeming to have served their purpose, at least temporarily. Now they’ve been revived by a group of local businesses and nonprofits — some of which didn’t even exist when the last series was going on — giving the next generation of local food farmers, producers, distributors, chefs and eaters the same chance to meet others of like mind.

This month’s event will feature a performance by DJ Doc and Fresh Camp, a project that combines urban farming and hip hop to encourage youth to improve their communities through growing health food.

Doors open at 5:30pm. The program starts at 6:30. It’s free.
