David Mayfield is one of the two illustrious siblings of Kent’s Mayfield family who have made an impact on the indie/Americana scene. Along with his sister Jessica Lea, he grew up playing in his family bluegrass band before taking off to pursue his own musical path. He actually first played in his sister’s band for a spell and joined Nashville folkgrass band Cadillac Sky before creating his band the David Mayfield Parade to play his own brand of bluegrass-influenced alternative country music. When he performs at the G.A.R. Hall in Peninsula as part of the Voices in the Valley concert series, he’ll be going acoustic to show off his legendary guitar fingerpicking skills and his favorite bluegrass songs.
