Mike Gulley started the Cleveland-based Old City Soda Co. several years ago to provide all-natural carbonated mixers for cocktails, something he as a former bartender felt there was a need for.
It turned out there was also a demand for these sodas as beverages, and last summer he moved his operations from his home to a production space in the St. Clair-Superior neighborhood. He offers four-packs in flavors like lemon, lime, ginger and grapefruit, and he’s working on a root beer now.
Old City Soda distributes to more than two dozen of the area’s finest and/or hippest restaurants, cocktail lounges and breweries including Lola, Dante, Chinato, Luxe, Rockefeller’s, Spice, the Lava Lounge and Platform Brewery.
One of the places you can pick up a four-pack is the Wine Spot on Lee Road in Cleveland Heights. That’s where Gulley will be hosting Cocktail Night. Join him as he shares the secrets of mixing his favorite cocktails and take home a four-pack — or several.
