Pittsburgh quartet the Clarks have been making stops in Cleveland since the early ’90s when they were part of a wave of bands whose energetic rock with tuneful pop melodies was popular on college campuses. This music was frequently dubbed “alternative,” a label that quickly became meaningless since this accessible music was radio-friendly and appealed to the average mainstream listener.
While the band never broke out big, they’ve enjoyed persistent regional success and kept on plugging. They recently released a new album called Feathers & Bones — their ninth — on their own Clarkhouse label.
