Guitarist David Knopfler founded the band Dire Straits with his better-known older brother Mark in the late ’70s and appeared with them on their first two albums, as well as on their career-making 1979 hit “Sultans of Swing.” However, by 1983 he was already flying solo. He’s continued to have a steady if low-key career as a songwriter, recording artist, author and performer, often working with his childhood friend and co-writer Harry Bogdanovs.
He’s currently in the midst of what he’s billing his 30th anniversary tour, a rare opportunity to catch him on tour. He’ll be at Nighttown for two nights.
Tickets are $25.
