Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra Plays Season Opener at Severance Hall

Cleveland Orchestra Youth

Sun 11/23 @ 8PM

Some of Cleveland’s best young aspiring professional musicians get a taste of the big time — the stage at Severance Hall — as the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra plays its first concert of the season there. The group features middle school and high school musicians from around the area, chosen by audition, who may someday be playing with the “big” orchestra.

Catch them now as they play John Adams’ The Chairman Dances (Foxtrot for Orchestra), Roy Harris’ Symphony No. 3 and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 4 under the baton of COYO music director Brett Mitchell.

An hour before the concert chamber ensembles from COYO will perform a Prelude Concert in Reinberger Chamber Hall that’s free to concert ticketholders.  And if you can’t make the concert, it’ll be broadcast live on WCLV-FM.

Tickets are $15-$20.
