Handmade Ice Cream @MasonsCreamery, Now Open In Ohio City

MasonsCreamery

In the spring of 2013, Jesse Mason and Helen Qin started selling their handmade, small-batch ice cream at farmers markets and special events like the Cleveland Flea as Mason’s Creamery. While tempting ice cream lovers with their ever-changing mix of comfortably familiar and adventurously offbeat flavors, they began the laborious process of restoring and upgrading a former Dari Delite in Ohio City for a permanent production and retail location.

It took longer than expected — pretty much par for the course when it comes to new food establishments. But they opened last week, confident you’re going to want ice cream when the weather gets cool. And they’ll have a flavor for that: they’re doing plenty of seasonal flavors like pumpkin, sweet potato pie, caramel apple, and, when the time comes, Christmas eggnog and peppermint tree bark. You can sample before you buy, and they have flavors for all you vegans as well. Stop in Tuesday-Sunday.
