moe. is a mainstay of the jam/festival circuit, no matter how much that pesky . after their name irritates us.
Like all jam bands, it’s spent its years (almost 25 of them now) not having hits and not getting radio airplay, but just touring, touring, touring, and more touring. There probably isn’t a festival they haven’t played. And like many jam bands who have reached a certain level of popularity in their home area (they’re from Buffalo), moe. hosts their own festival as well, taking place in upstate New York.
The group has a new album, No Guts, No Glory. But new albums don’t drive jam band tours. Fans come to hear them apply their progressive rock-informed chops to an ever-changing set of selections from their vast repertoire, reinterpreting them nightly.
moe. will perform an evening at the Kent Stage.
Tickets are $34.
