For October, the Cleveland Museum of Art’s monthly MIX will have the flavor of fall with seasonal craft brews, a pumpkin carver, and focus on the autumnal painting in the galleries.
The music will have a bit of a crisp, woodsy edge too. It’s being provided by Cleveland newgrass trio Honeybucket, whose acoustic-based music updates traditional bluegrass for a (much) younger generation. They add some contemporary influences and a jolt of rock & roll energy to their folksy sound, enough to rouse a crowd without making them step back.
Just a bit under three years old (the date their launch as Halloween 2011), the band has attracted a lot of attention in the area in that time, playing major events around town and releasing a self-titled EP. They bring a friendly spirit wherever they play.
Tickets are $8, free for museum members.
