NE Ohio Musicians Who Left for NYC Bring Their Band to Nighttown

Sat 9/6 @ 8:30PM

5jBarrow is another of those “They left Cleveland to do their thing and now they’re back in their hometown to show it off” stories.

The six-member folk/rock group features two northeast Ohioans: lead vocalist and composer Eryn Murman (Lakewood) and pianist Erick Namaky (Chagrin Falls). They both headed for New York to do musical theater (Murman spent 18 months on Broadway in the hit show Spring Awakening) and formed 5jBarrow there two years ago, along with vocalist/guitarist Jason Hite, violinist Michael Hunter, drummer Ian Hunt, and bassist Hayden Frank.

They’ve already gotten a lot of attention in New York, won a Battle of the Boroughs competition sponsored by a NYC radio station and got to perform at the Apollo Theater there.  And they recently released their debut album From the Dim, Sweet Light.

Now Murman and Namaky are coming home with their bandmates in tow to perform at Nighttown.

Tickets are $15.
