Learn About Using Herbs in Food @Clemetroparks

Sat 8/23 @1-3PM

If you’re trying to wean your tastebuds from the salty, sugary diet we’ve been sold by the makers of processed and fast foods, there’s no better way to do so than getting familiar with herbs.

Not only can they add an array of flavors to food, they can do beneficial things for your health, as they’ve been used in folk medicine for things like improving digestion, soothing tension, and even relieving pain. And they’re among the easiest of plants to grow, even if you think you have no knack for gardening.

The Rocky River Nature Center of the Cleveland Metroparks is hosting a two-hour workshop titled Herbs Are Tasty! Naturalist Kathy Schmidt will explain and demonstrate how herbs can be harvested and used in simple recipes. You’ll even get a taste.

The cost is $5. To make a reservation, email rockyrivernc@clevelandmetroparks.com
