Blue Water Chamber Orchestra Opens Its Season With Beethoven

Blue Water Chamber Orchestra kicks off its fifth season with a pair of pieces by Beethoven: His Concerto No. 1 for Piano and his Symphony No. 1, early works that helped establish the composer’s reputation.

Pianist Zsolt Bognár joins the orchestra for the concerto. The young musician, originally from Illinois, earned his bachelors and masters degrees at the Cleveland Institute of Music and has performed all over the world, winning competitions and playing a fabled venues like the Kennedy Center and Lincoln Center. He has a strong interest in contemporary music, premiering works with new music ensembles. But as this performance shows, he’s equally comfortable with the tried and true.

The concert takes place at St. Ignatius High School’s Breen Center in Ohio City.
