@WJCU887 Host Annual Radiothon Metal Benefit @ClevelandAgora

Sat 1/15 @ 6PM

WJCU 88.7 FM’s annual Radiothon is in full swing until Sunday February 16. You can call in a pledge (216-397-4438) any time to help support the nonprofit John Carroll University radio station or you can go to their website.

But it wouldn’t be a WJCU Radiothon without a big heavy metal benefit concert organized by longtime host of the Friday evening Metal on Metal show, Bill Peters.

This year’s event is as always packed with the best of local metal.

It’s headlined by Midnight, a trio which includes area metal veterans guitarist Shaun Vanik, bassist Jamie Walters, and drummer Bob Zeiger.

They’ll be joined by Black Death Resurrected, the contemporary version of ’80s metal band Black Death, fronted by the inimitable Sikki Spacek and another veteran band from the ’80s Wretch.

The bill also includes a newer band that’s been making waves, doom metalers Venomin James out of Kirtland, and a brand-new band Queen of Hell that emerged from this year’s Lottery League and decided to stick around.

And finally it features a new/old band Vulgar Devils, a trio which includes guitarist Dave Overkill and drummer Matt Flammable of Cleveland’s beloved metal manics Destructor.

Metal queen Chris Emig, vocalist of the recently defunct Cellbound, will serve as special guest emcee.

Admission is $8.
