@EnsembleTheater’s “Knock Me a Kiss” Explores the Pinnacle of the Harlem Renaissance

Onstage thru Sun 2/23

Ensemble Theatre’s production of Charles Smith’s Knock Me a Kiss continues over the next two weekends.  Caroline Jackson Smith directs this fictional story inspired by real events surrounding the Harlem Renaissance. The play focuses around the 1928 marriage of one of Harlem’s greatest poets, Countee Cullen and Yolande Du Bois, daughter of WEB Du Bois.  The union is considered by many to be the pinnacle of the Harlem Renaissance.

Performances on Fridays and Saturdays are preceded by Harlem Jazz Receptions and Open-Mic Poetry from 6:30-7:30pm.
