Trinity Cathedral’s weekly noontime Brownbag Concerts start their spring season this week with a return visit from Jake Swanson and Sarah Marchitelli, who performed their in March.
The two classically trained saxophone players (yes, you read that right) live and work in upstate New York where they each have separate careers as teachers and performers, as well as their duo, which has performed all over the country and in Europe as well.
They’ll join the Trinity Chamber Orchestra for a program that will include a world premiere, something they do quite a lot. Since there isn’t much classical repertoire written expressly for the saxophone, they’ve frequently collaborated with composers to create new works for them.
The concerts are free, and you can bring your lunch or purchase one there for $5. They offer a great chance for downtown workers to enjoy their lunch while listening to free music by some of the area’s top musicians as well as guest players.
