Vocalist/guitarist Max Stern has played with a series of local punk-rock bands. Currently, he’s in the industrious Signals Midwest, who released a new album called Light on the Lake on Carolina-based Tiny Engines Records in November.
But Stern also has a group with his brother Jake called Meridian, which plays more spontaneous and intimate music, the sort of stripped-down, living room spawned tunes that expose the most naked feelings. Meridian’s latest, last year’s The Harvest Month, featured 30 songs each written and recorded in a single day.
The band will be playing at the Wine Spot aka the Music Spot on Lee Road in Cleveland Heights as the first in a monthly series of shows there presented by the nonprofit Cleveland Rocks: Past, Present & Future, which was formed to preserve Cleveland’s music history and to promote and grow its current music scene.
It’s free.
