Larchmere Porchfest, taking place on and around Larchmere Boulevard just north of Shaker Square, is going into its 6th year.
Patterned on a festival started in Ithaca, New York, the event features performers playing on private porches on side streets, as well as restaurant patios and apartment courtyards. Last year 30 acts played: indie rock, electronic acts, acoustic singer-songwriters, rockabilly groups, reggae, klezmer, classical, and experimental jazz.
Porchfest is now taking submissions from musicians who’d like to play at this year’s event. As you can tell, there are no limits to the genres they will consider, although they aren’t looking for run-of-the-mill cover bands. Otherwise, anything goes!
