Good news for you chocoholics. You don’t have to sit in your house mainlining that box of holiday candy you put on your top shelf to avoid temptation.
You can grab your honey and go out Lake/Ashtabula wine country to eat chocolate — and drink wine. Fifteen wineries in Geneva, Madison, Ashtabula, Conneaut, Perry and surrounding areas are hosting the “Chocolate is For Lovers Trail” experience.
It’s a self-guided tour where a ticket gives you the chance to create your own itinerary (you’d be hard pressed to hit them all!) and plan the stops where you’ll get wine samplings, appetizers, chocolates and other desserts. You can also get to pick up a candy dish and wine glasses from one of the wineries.
