This weekend, local artist and gallery owner Loren Naji presents his first major event on Waterloo since announcing his new satellite gallery location in Collinwood. Moon3 (Cubed) will feature over 30 emerging and established local artists.
Naji gave 32 artists each a 2ft x 4ft piece of plywood to do whatever they pleased. On Saturday, all the artists will install their boards into a massive cube structure. Naji created the skeleton of the structure. The inside of the “Moon Cube” will feature installation artist Julie Schenkelberg – whose work is currently on view at The Sculpture Center.
Participating artists include Alenka Banco, Justin Brennan, John Carlson, Dan Corrigan, Jen Craun, Dana Depew, Andy Dreamingwolf, Steve Ehret, Ali Forbes, Punk Fargo, Hilary Gent, Michael Gill, Erin Guido, Ron Johnston, George Kocar, Joe Lanzilotta, James March, Steven Mastroianni, Liz Maugans, Jim Morano, Betsi Morris, Loren Naji, Rick Novario, Angela Oster, Bob Peck, Angelica Pozo, Melinda Placko, Ed Raffel, Thom Rossino, Julie Schenkelberg, Mike Sobeck, Grace Summanen, Omid Tavakoli, Robert Thurmer, (CC contributor) Josh Usmani, Daive Whaley, Grace Wen and Gadi Zamir.
Afterwards, food and drink will be available at an after party at the Beachland Ballroom & Tavern.
