The annual WJCU/Auburn Records Metal Holiday Food Drive Concert at the Beachland Ballroom is always a jam-packed evening featuring some of the area’s best metal bands.
This year, the event’s 5th, it will be TWO great evenings of loud, heavy music, with six bands each night — both veterans like Soulless and Shok Paris, and new bands on the scene like Fuck You Pay Me and Slitt.
On Friday, you can hear Alternate Reality (7pm), Vulgar Devils (7:45), Fuck You Pay Me (8:30), Embalmer (9:15), Soulless (10:10) and Dark Arena (11:05).
Saturday’s lineup includes Scum Park Hooligans (7pm), Slitt (7:45), Black Death Resurrected (8:40), Ground Zero (9:35), Global Warning (10:35), and Shok Paris (11:30).
Here’s the deal: it’s free. Yes, totally free.
But attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items and pet supplies and make donations. The food items go to the Cleveland Food Bank; the pet supplies benefit Friends of the Cleveland Kennel and the Lake County Humane Society. The cash donations will be divvied up between the three organizations.
