The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum has announced that the honorees for this year’s American Music Masters series — a week-long even featuring films, lectures, panels, a conference, and a closing gala concert — will be the Rolling Stones.
That’s not exactly a huge surprise, given that the Rock Hall is currently featuring a special exhibition dedicated to the Stones. Drummer Steve Jordan will lead the band for the 10/26 concert at PlayhouseSquare. Performers already booked include Lisa Fischer. Bernard Fowler, Bobby Keys, Trevor Lawrence, Steve Madaio, Ian McLagan, Ivan Neville, Waddy Wachtel, and Willie Weeks, with more to be added. All have played with the Stones at some point, either live or on a recording.
The full schedule of events will be announced in coming weeks as well.
This is the 18th edition of the educational event which explores the music and influence of a key Rock Hall inductee each year.
Tickets for the tribute concert, $30-$80, go on sale 9/16 at the PlayhouseSquare box office online.
