Rising Cleveland Rockers Welshly Arms at Beachland Tavern

Thu 10/3 @ 9PM

Cleveland quartet Welshly Arms has the kind of classic, timeless blues-based rock sound, driven by solid musicianship and strong performance skills, that probably could have netted them a major label recording contract and a shot at national fame, if those kinds of things were still happening much.

As it is, they have what it takes to perform on a wide variety of bills and appeal to diverse audiences. They’re new on the scene, formed just last year, although three of the members previously performed together in another local band, Cactus 12.

They released an EP, Welcome, this past spring. It includes five tunes ranging from roof-raising blues-rocker “Two Seconds Too Late” to the powerfully soulful ballad “Your Picture,” to the more pensive ballad “Run Right Out of Here.” The band has a big, sweeping  sound that translates into intense live performances.

They’ll perform this week at the Beachland Tavern with Chicago blues-rock trio the Steepwater Band.

Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door.
