Trombonist Paul Ferguson is the director of the jazz studies program a Case Western Reserve University. He’s known as a jazz composer and arranger who has done charts for the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra. He’s performed with virtually every musical group in the area including the Cleveland Orchestra. And he’s made numerous recordings as a band leader with his Paul Ferguson Jazz Orchestra.
By any standard, he’s one of the top jazz players living and working in this area.
So if you’re a jazz fan you won’t want to miss catching his quintet when they play for free in Lincoln Park as part of Tremont’s Arts in August series.
The evening will include a bonus. The quintet will be joined by Cleveland jazz/R&B vocalist Evelyn Wright, who has made numerous appearances at the Tri-C Jazz Fest. Just bring a blanket or chair and soak in the sounds.
