Opera per Tutti Scheduled for Tremont’s Arts in August

Sat 8/17 @ 7PM

You may have seen the big stage set up as you’ve driven past Tremont’s Lincoln Park recently. That’s because Tremont’s Arts in August series presents free dance, theater and music programming in the park on these late summer weekends.

Coming up is a group that’s working hard to take a music genre that’s considered something of a refined acquired taste to people who may not have had a chance to hear it. Opera per Tutti performs operatic music in non-traditional venues around northeast Ohio.

This particular concert, the company says, “will be a celebration of Cleveland’s musical diversity through opera, art song and musical theater.”

Singers include sopranos Andrea Anelli (also the company’s founder) and Rebecca Freshwater, mezzo-soprano Laura Hengle, tenor Timothy Culver, and baritone Benjamin Czarnota. They’ll be joined by violinist Barton Samuel Rotberg and pianist Javier Gonzalez.

You can bring a chair or blanket and some munchies, and just kick back and take in the scne and the sounds.

For more about Anelli, there’s a 2010 profile written by Cool Cleveland’s Kelly Ferjutz here.
