Cle’s Bohemian Enclave
Cleveland Heights is located, appropriately, on a bluff just past University Circle. But what is truly unique about Cleveland Heights is the rich variety of things to do there.
Of particular note is the Bohemian district known as Coventry Village. This tightly arranged, walking community is where a variety of creatives mingle and find inspiration from like-minded and free thinking people. Where else can you eat a vegan, macrobiotic or Mongolian meal, buy a used paperback book, vinyl record, holistic cat treats or a whoopee cushion; and see an Indie rock band or poetry reading – all without even getting into your car to drive between shops.
Coventry Village attracts people from all over Northeast Ohio and beyond because of its unique blend of quirky shops, unique restaurants and uncommon entertainment venues and because of the mash up of people from different backgrounds, ages, incomes and cultures who frequent the district.
But there is more to do in Cleveland Heights beyond Coventry Road. Cleveland Heights other attractions of note, including a nationally-recognized jazz club in the Cedar Fairmount district, an artistically significant theater, an unconventional movie house in the Cedar Lee district, and a city park that is truly a treasure – an arts extravaganza with live theater and concerts, gallery exhibits, an arts festival and, of course, community green space all summer long.
