Trumpeter Kamal Abdul-Alim is yet another of what seems like an endless stream of native Cleveland jazz musicians spewed out all over the world.
Like so many others, he moved on to New York City decades ago, where he performed and recorded with a roster of jazz greats that included Clark Terry, Max Roach, Billy Higgins, Archie Shepp, Pharoah Sanders and dozens more.
He now splits his time between New York and Seattle.
He’s returning home for a show at Nighttown where he’ll be joined by three outstanding local musicians: guitarist Lucas Kadish, bassist Kevin Muhammad, and drummer Bill Ransom.
Tickets are $10.
