Summer’s drawing to a close, and so are the outdoor concert series.
This week, the Akron Art Museum’s free weekly Downtown@Dusk events conclude with a visit from singer/songwriter Anne E. DeChant.
DeChant took northeast Ohio by storm with her early ’90s band Odd Girl Out, which spawned active solo careers for her and fellow vocalist Alexis Antes. She moved from Lakewood to Nashville in 2008 and continued to release ever-more-assured albums of her polished, heartfelt pop tunes.
Music runs from 6:30-8:30 with a break at 7:30 for a brief art talk. There are kids’ art-making activities inside in the education room, and refreshments available outside on the terrace.
The galleries and gift shop are also open late, and because it’s Third Thursday, the galleries are also free.
